Wenn die Systemdateien von Windows 10 beschädigt sind, kann das Herunterfahren auch blockiert werden. Repariert Windows 10 dann wie folgt:
Drückt die Tastenkombination Windows + R, gebt cmd ein, haltet die Strg- und Shift-Taste gedrückt und bestätigt mit Enter.
Die Eingabeaufforderung startet jetzt mit Administratorrechten.
Gebt den Befehl sfc /scannow ein und drückt Enter.

Razer schwimmt gegen den Strom. Während die Konkurrenz bei Gaming-Laptops eher auf 17-Zoll-Geräte setzt, hält Razer seine Notebooks kompakt und leicht. Mit dem neuen Razer Blade Stealth 13 stellt das Unternehmen laut eigener Aussage das „weltweit erste Gaming-Ultrabook“ vor. GIGA verrät euch in einem Hands-On von der IFA 2019, welche Hardware im handlichen Spiele-Notebook steckt und wie viel es kostet.

Das Wichtigste zuerst: Statt einer eher leistungsschwachen MX-Grafiklösung von Nvidia verbaut Razer im neuen Blade Stealth 13 erstmals eine Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. Das sorgt für einen spürbaren Leistungsschub bei Spielen, sodass das Ultrabook nun auch guten Gewissens für die eine oder andere Gaming-Session genutzt werden kann.
Auf der IFA 2019 konnten wir das Gerät erstmals selbst ausprobieren und wurden positiv überrascht: Forza Horizon 4 lief auf dem Full-HD-Modell in hohen Grafikeinstellungen mit 50-60 Bildern pro Sekunde. Während des Pressebriefings erfuhren wir, dass auch Wolfenstein: Youngblood ein ähnliches Performance-Niveau auf mittleren Einstellungen erreichen soll.
Zugegebenermaßen gehören die beiden Spiele zu den besser optimierten PC-Spielen der jüngsten Vergangenheit, das tut dem Ergebnis aber keinen Abriss. Zum Zocken in 4K-Auflösung reicht die Hardware-Ausstattung jedoch nicht – das sollte man von einem etwa 1,4 Kilogramm schweren Laptop aber auch nicht erwarten.

Beim Prozessor greift Razer zu Intels brandneuen Ice-Lake-Chips. In allen drei Varianten des Blade Stealth 13 arbeitet ein i7-1065G7, ein stromsparender Vierkern-Prozessor, der wie gewohnt Hyper-Threading unterstützt. Wer ein bisschen Geld sparen will, greift zur Variante ohne Nvidia-Grafikchip – der Mercury-White-Version. Im Gegensatz zum Großteil des Produktportfolios setzt Razer diesmal nicht auf ein schwarzes Finish, sondern auf einen silberweißen Look (siehe Titelbild).
Gut zu wissen: Auch im 4K-Modell des neuen Blade Stealth 13 kommt ein IPS-Panel zum Einsatz. OLED-Displays verbaut Razer nur bei Geräten mit 15- oder 17-Zoll-Display.

Die wichtigsten technischen Daten und Ausstattungsmöglichkeiten des Razer Blade Stealth 13 im Überblick:Ende September 2019 sollen die neuen Gaming-Ultrabooks von Razer in den USA und Kanada verfügbar sein, Kunden aus Deutschland sollen die Geräte kurze Zeit später online erwerben können. Kostentechnisch bewegen wir uns hier ganz klar im oberen Preissegment: Razers neue Mercury-White-Variante ist die einzige Version ohne GTX 1650 und soll zum Start etwa 1.680 Euro kosten.
Wer sich für die schwarze Full-HD oder 4K-Variante mit dedizierter Grafiklösung entscheidet, muss tiefer in die Tasche greifen. Für die Full-HD-Version werden rund 2.000 Euro fällig, das Upgrade aufs 4K-Touch-Display kostet weitere 200 Euro.

Wie zuvor testete Consumer Reports die drei neuen Modelle des MacBook Pro: das 13-Zoll-Modell mit und ohne Touch Bar, sowie den 15-Zöller mit Touch Bar. Die Ergebnisse der Akkus fallen laut den Testern wie folgt aus:Die zuvor schlechten Werte aufgrund stark variierender Akkulaufzeiten zwischen 3,75 und 19,5 Stunden sorgten dafür, dass Consumer Reports das neue MacBook Pro insgesamt nicht empfehlen konnte. Die ansonsten guten Werte in anderen Bereichen, etwa fürs Display und die Performance, konnten daran nichts ändern.
Apple gibt offiziell nur bis zu 10 Stunden beim Surfen im Web an. In unserem Test des MacBook Pro 2016 (13 Zoll, ohne Touchbar) kamen wir auf gut 7 Stunden Betriebslaufzeit. Die Ergebnisse von Consumer Reports führten seit der Veröffentlichung aufgrund der unrealistischen Laufzeiten auf Twitter zu wenig überraschenden Reaktionen:

Windows 10 fährt nicht runter. Das Betriebssystem reagiert dann beim Ausschalten- oder Neu-Starten-Befehl einfach nicht. Mit folgenden Tricks könnt ihr das Problem jedoch schnell lösen.
Zur Not könnt ihr Windows durch langes Drücken des Ausschalters am Laptop oder PC ausschalten. Ansonsten hilft das Herausnehmen des Akkus beziehungsweise das Trennen der Stromverbindung. Wenn Windows 10 allerdings jedes Mal nicht herunterfahren möchte, gibt es bessere Lösungen.

Hin und wieder blockieren Autostart-Programme das Herunterfahren von Windows 10. Dazu gehören beispielsweise auch Tuning-Programme und Registry-Cleaner. So könnt ihr das überprüfen:
Öffnet den Task-Manager, indem ihr mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Taskleiste und dann auf „Task-Manager“ klickt.

Schaut nach, ob ihr unbekannte Software findet. Schadsoftware kann das Betriebssystem beim Herunterfahren stören.
Deaktiviert im Zweifel alle Autostart-Programme und startet Windows 10 neu.
Wenn das Herunterfahren dann funktioniert, könnt ihr die Autostart-Einträge wieder einzeln aktivieren, um so herauszufinden, welches Programm das Herunterfahren blockiert.
Unter Umständen seht ihr beim Herunterfahren auch die Meldung „1 Programm muss noch geschlossen werden“. Hier seht ihr am Beispiel von „Task Host Window“, wie ihr das abstellt.
Moderne Windows-10-Rechner fahren das Betriebssystem nicht mehr vollständig herunter. Stattdessen wechseln sie in eine Art Hybrid-Modus, um danach wieder schneller hochfahren zu können. Diese Funktion nennt sich Schnellstart und ist in Windows 10 standardmäßig aktiviert. Das kann allerdings auch zu Fehlern führen. Wir empfehlen daher, den Schnellstart zu deaktivieren:

Die gleiche Funktion bietet das Mirabook aber auch mit einem Continuum-Smartphone wie dem Lumia 950 XL. Einfach Smartphone per USB Typ C anschließen und das Mirabook wird zum Leben erweckt. Das Kabel zum Verbinden des Smartphones, HDMI-Sticks oder Mini-PCs ist direkt ins Gehäuse integriert und kann farblich angepasst werden.

Das Gehäuse des Mirabook besteht aus Aluminium. Es ist ein 13,3-Zoll-Display mit einer Full-HD-Auflösung verbaut. Das USB-Typ-C-Kabel zur Verbindung mit einem Smartphone ist fest integriert. Per USB Typ C wird das Mirabook wieder aufgeladen. Es stehen zudem zwei vollwertige USB-Anschlüsse zur Verfügung und ein HDMI-Ausgang, falls man das Mirabook an einen größeren Bildschirm anschließen möchte.

Das Mirabook kostet später im Handel 299 US-Dollar. Bei Indiegogo müssen Unterstützter aktuell nur 180 US-Dollar zuzüglich Versand bezahlen. Die Auslieferung soll im Dezember 2017 erfolgen – falls das Projekt erfolgreich finanziert wird. Dazu müssen mindestens 50.000 US-Dollar eingesammelt werden, aktuell sind es etwa 45 Prozent.
Wenn ihr Bluetooth an eurem Laptop nutzen wollt, müsst ihr die Funktion zunächst aktivieren. Danach könnt ihr darüber Daten zwischen dem Laptop und anderen Geräten, etwa eurem Smartphone oder Tablet übertragen. Wir zeigen euch in dieser Anleitung, wie das Ganze funktioniert.

Kein Bluetooth? Falls ihr kein Bluetooth-Symbol auf eurer Laptop-Tastatur findet und auch keine entsprechende Einstellung im Betriebssystem, stellt sicher, dass euer Laptop überhaupt Bluetooth integriert hat. Ansonsten könnt ihr für knapp 10 Euro einen Bluetooth-Adapter kaufen*.

Auf Desktop-PCs ist die Bluetooth-Funktion meistens aktiv, sofern der Rechner Bluetooth unterstützt. Am Laptop lässt sich die Funktion aber einfach ein- und ausschalten. Damit soll verhindert werden, dass der Akku des Laptops übermäßig beansprucht wird, weil ihr derzeit vielleicht gar kein Bluetooth benötigt.
Sony Vaio, Lenovo und Co.: Bluetooth bei alten Laptops einschalten
Die oben beschriebene Methode funktioniert generell bei allen Laptop-Modellen, allerdings kann die Funktion dort anders lauten. Bei den Laptops von Sony Vaio heißt die Taste zum Aktivieren von Bluetooth beispielsweise „Wireless“. Außerdem ist das Symbol ein blaues B.

Auch bei älteren Modellen solltet ihr vorher prüfen, ob sie Bluetooth besitzen. Schaut dazu einfach in das Handbuch (meistens online über Suchmaschinen auffindbar). Beispiel: Sony Vaio-Benutzerhandbuch.Genau wie ihr Bluetooth aktiviert, könnt ihr es auch wieder deaktivieren – also entweder über die entsprechende Taste, sofern vorhanden, oder über die Einstellungen. Solltet ihr Bluetooth nicht länger benötigen, empfehlen wir, die drahtlose Verbindung zu deaktivieren, um euren Akku zu schonen.

Die Erwartungshaltung an Apple ist anhaltend hoch. Vom Branchenprimus erwarten die Fans, die Presse und auch die Börse stets Revolutionen. Mittlerweile sollte man jedoch gelernt haben: Derartige große Schritte gelingen nur alle paar Jubeljahre und schon gar nicht quartalsweise. Und doch schwebt immer die leise Hoffnung nach dem berühmt berüchtigten „One more thing…“ mit. So wohl auch derzeit bei Apples MacBook-Strategie.

Die gleiche Funktion bietet das Mirabook aber auch mit einem Continuum-Smartphone wie dem Lumia 950 XL. Einfach Smartphone per USB Typ C anschließen und das Mirabook wird zum Leben erweckt. Das Kabel zum Verbinden des Smartphones, HDMI-Sticks oder Mini-PCs ist direkt ins Gehäuse integriert und kann farblich angepasst werden.

Das Gehäuse des Mirabook besteht aus Aluminium. Es ist ein 13,3-Zoll-Display mit einer Full-HD-Auflösung verbaut. Das USB-Typ-C-Kabel zur Verbindung mit einem Smartphone ist fest integriert. Per USB Typ C wird das Mirabook wieder aufgeladen. Es stehen zudem zwei vollwertige USB-Anschlüsse zur Verfügung und ein HDMI-Ausgang, falls man das Mirabook an einen größeren Bildschirm anschließen möchte.

Das Mirabook kostet später im Handel 299 US-Dollar. Bei Indiegogo müssen Unterstützter aktuell nur 180 US-Dollar zuzüglich Versand bezahlen. Die Auslieferung soll im Dezember 2017 erfolgen – falls das Projekt erfolgreich finanziert wird. Dazu müssen mindestens 50.000 US-Dollar eingesammelt werden, aktuell sind es etwa 45 Prozent.
Wenn ihr Bluetooth an eurem Laptop nutzen wollt, müsst ihr die Funktion zunächst aktivieren. Danach könnt ihr darüber Daten zwischen dem Laptop und anderen Geräten, etwa eurem Smartphone oder Tablet übertragen. Wir zeigen euch in dieser Anleitung, wie das Ganze funktioniert.

Kein Bluetooth? Falls ihr kein Bluetooth-Symbol auf eurer Laptop-Tastatur findet und auch keine entsprechende Einstellung im Betriebssystem, stellt sicher, dass euer Laptop überhaupt Bluetooth integriert hat. Ansonsten könnt ihr für knapp 10 Euro einen Bluetooth-Adapter kaufen*.

Auf Desktop-PCs ist die Bluetooth-Funktion meistens aktiv, sofern der Rechner Bluetooth unterstützt. Am Laptop lässt sich die Funktion aber einfach ein- und ausschalten. Damit soll verhindert werden, dass der Akku des Laptops übermäßig beansprucht wird, weil ihr derzeit vielleicht gar kein Bluetooth benötigt.
Sony Vaio, Lenovo und Co.: Bluetooth bei alten Laptops einschalten
Die oben beschriebene Methode funktioniert generell bei allen Laptop-Modellen, allerdings kann die Funktion dort anders lauten. Bei den Laptops von Sony Vaio heißt die Taste zum Aktivieren von Bluetooth beispielsweise „Wireless“. Außerdem ist das Symbol ein blaues B.

Auch bei älteren Modellen solltet ihr vorher prüfen, ob sie Bluetooth besitzen. Schaut dazu einfach in das Handbuch (meistens online über Suchmaschinen auffindbar). Beispiel: Sony Vaio-Benutzerhandbuch.Genau wie ihr Bluetooth aktiviert, könnt ihr es auch wieder deaktivieren – also entweder über die entsprechende Taste, sofern vorhanden, oder über die Einstellungen. Solltet ihr Bluetooth nicht länger benötigen, empfehlen wir, die drahtlose Verbindung zu deaktivieren, um euren Akku zu schonen.

According to our colorimeter, they did – in the sense that the average display on premium laptops today is very good compared to a year ago. There are better displays available, but the average provides a solid mix of brightness, contrast, and colors that are going to please the average person. That’s almost exactly where the Swift 7’s display lands.

It comes in at 273 nits of brightness, which is below our preferred 300 nits but – you guessed it – roughly average for the class. The HP Envy 13 is brighter at 369 nits, and the IdeaPad S940 is much brighter at 470 nits, but most laptops in our comparison group come in at around the same as the Swift 7.

If there’s a metric where the Swift 7’s display disappoints, it’s in its contrast ratio. It managed just a 790:1 ratio, which is at the low end of our comparison group and well under the 1,000:1 ratio we like to see from modern premium laptops. The HP Spectre Folio exceeds that threshold and the Asus ZenBook S13 comes close. The Swift 7 isn’t bad, mind you, but we’ve come to expect better.

The Swift 7 felt the tiniest bit sluggish when we had too many browser tabs and apps running.

Color gamut and accuracy show the Swift 7 smack dab in the middle at 72 percent of AdobeRGB, except the very good IdeaPad S940’s 83 percent. You have to step up to machines like the Dell XPS 15 4K display and the HP Spectre x360 15 AMOLED panel to get 90 percent of AdobeRGB or better.

In real-life use, we have no complaints. The Swift 7’s display provides all the colors and contrast we need for comfortable productivity work, and its gamma is only a little dark at 2.3 (2.2 is perfect), and so Netflix and other video looks just fine. The Swift 7 isn’t necessarily a laptop for creative professionals, but then again, the performance limitations likely disqualify it anyway.

Audio performance is another victim of the tiny chassis. Volume doesn’t go particularly high, in fact, it’s one of the quietest laptops we’ve heard in recent memory. It’s clear enough, without distortion, and mids and highs are pleasant (bass is non-existent, as expected). But if you want to entertain a few friends, you’ll be disappointed. Keep a pair of headphones or a Bluetooth speaker handy.

A LOW-POWER PROCESSOR THAT’S A STEP BEHIND
The Swift 7 equips an 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8500Y, which is a fanless dual-core CPU that’s aimed at extending batteries and reducing heat. As we experienced with the Spectre Folio, this processor is fully capable of solid productivity performance – did Acer get the best out of it?


In short, no. The Swift 7 falls behind the Spectre Folio in our testing, which makes it considerably slower than laptops running Intel’s 8th-gen quad-core U-series CPUs. In the Geekbench 4 synthetic benchmark, for example, the Swift 7 managed 4,031 in the single-core test and just 6,449 in the multi-core test. That’s just slightly faster than the 2018 Swift 7 with the older Core i7-7Y75 processor, and significantly behind the Spectre Folio.

When we ran the Swift 7 through our Handbrake test that encodes a 420MB video to H.265, the laptop took 607 seconds to finish. That’s 40 seconds behind the Spectre Folio and 10 seconds slower than the 2018 Swift 7. The ZenBook S13, with its full-power CPU finished in a much faster 212 seconds.

We suspect that Acer tuned the system to avoid generating too much heat. That makes sense in a fanless laptop with such a thin chassis. And indeed, we never felt the laptop get much warmer than around 100 degrees F on the bottom of the chassis. But the tradeoff is reduced performance, to the point where – unlike the Spectre Folio – the Swift 7 did feel the tiniest bit sluggish when we had many browser tabs open and ran Microsoft Office applications. That’s not a good sign.

Yep. First, the 2019 Swift 7 isn’t nearly as rigid as you might like, especially considering its use of magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys. The display is quite bendy, there’s significant keyboard flex, and the bottom of the chassis doesn’t feel as stiff as it should. This is a departure from the previous version, which was among the most solid we’ve tested. It’s well behind the competition in this area.

The Swift 7’s keyboard layout is funky and hard to get used to.

We’re not saying it won’t hold up to the usual productivity worker’s abuse — it’s by no means the flimsiest we’ve tested. However, it doesn’t feel as robust as some other premium laptops in this price range (the IdeaPad S940 being one example). It probably will last just fine, thanks to the strength of the materials used, but it simply doesn’t evoke the same kind of confidence as more solid laptops.

Aesthetically, the Swift 7 is a sharp machine. We reviewed the white version (a black model is also available), and it’s sleek, modern, and understated. It’s easily the equal of other premium laptops like the ZenBook S13, IdeaPad S940, and XPS 13. We’ll also note that the surface stays fingerprint-free thanks to the coating Asus uses to help resist scratches.

Another compromise is that connectivity is limited. There are two USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 ports with Thunderbolt 3 support, and that’s it except for a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Power is provided by USB-C, which is welcome, and wireless connectivity is provided by an Intel combo gigabit 802.11ac 2X2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. Like Asus does with its ZenBooks, Acer throws in a USB-C hub providing a USB-A 3.1, USB-C, and full-size HDMI port.

A FUNKY KEYBOARD, BUT A REAL TOUCHPAD
In terms of its feel, the Swift 7’s keyboard isn’t bad for such a thin laptop. It has more travel than you’d expect – just slightly more, by touch, than the MacBook’s butterfly keyboard – and it’s quite snappy and precise. If you hate shallow keyboards, then you probably won’t like this one, but if you can live with a little less depth, then you’ll get used to it in no time. It’s also backlit, which is expected in a premium laptop, but unfortunately, there are no levels of brightness. On or off.

Where the keyboard really disappoints is in its layout, which carries over from the previous version. Simply put, it’s funky, mainly because it doesn’t have a row of dedicated function/feature keys at the top. Those keys are thus scattered around the keyboard in odd, almost random places, and it takes way too much time to figure out how to do something simple like toggle the backlight. Maybe it’s a first-world problem and others would pick it up pretty quickly, but it’s quite jarring at first.

One massive improvement from the 2018 Swift 7 is that the new version now has a real touchpad. The old version had just a flat surface without buttons or haptic feedback, making it difficult and uncomfortable to use. The new version, though, has a wide touchpad with a glass surface and functional buttons. It’s a dramatic improvement over the previous model, especially since it includes Microsoft Precision support for great Windows 10 multitouch gestures.

As we mentioned already, the Swift 7 has very small bezels, roughly as small as the IdeaPad S940 and the ZenBook S13. Unlike those laptops, though, the Swift 7 doesn’t have a reverse notch to house the webcam. So, Acer stuck it in a pop-up mechanism above the keyboard, and it’s just as you might imagine – great for privacy because you can simply close it to remain invisible, but it has the same unflattering up-the-nose angle as all such cameras. You probably won’t like it if you rely on the built-in webcam for video conferencing.

Finally, the Swift 7 has a very responsive fingerprint reader built into the power button, located to the upper-left of the keyboard. It works very well with Windows 10 Hello to login without a password – it was quick and accurate in all of our testing.

THE AVERAGE DISPLAY DOESN’T STAND OUT
There’s only one display option with the Swift 7, a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) touch panel. Acer had to pull some engineering rabbits out of a hat to fit a touchscreen into such a thin display, but they managed. Did they manage to equip a good display as well?

Warum sollte man generell einen zusätzlichen, externen Akku mit dem MacBook verwenden? Immerhin sind die mobilen Apple-Rechner doch fähig, neuerdings bis zu 12 Stunden ohne erneute Stromzufuhr netzunabhängig zu arbeiten (MacBook Air 13 Zoll, Modelljahr 2014). Hier sei gesagt: Diese Werte sind seitens Apple zwar realistisch, jedoch werden sie nur bei leichten Arbeiten tatsächlich erreicht. Wer dagegen leistungshungrige Anwendungen mobil nutzt, beispielsweise Videoschnitt etc., muss schon nach wenigen Stunden „auftanken“. Ein zusätzlicher Akku erhöht so die Unabhängigkeit im freien Feld. Praktisch ist ein derartiger Stromspeicher ferner für ausgiebigere Touren, abseits der „Zivilisation“ – nicht nur bei der nächsten Arktis-Expedition, auch bei längeren Interkontinentalflügen oder Zugreisen.

In der Vergangenheit musste man hierfür auf „Bastellösungen“ zurückgreifen, da Apple den MagSafe-Anschluss der MacBooks bisher nicht lizensierte für Zubehörhersteller. Federführend in der Vergangenheit war hierbei das Unternehmen HyperMac / HyperJuice. Mittlerweile ist es aber nicht mehr notwendig das eigene Netzteil zu zerlegen, um den benötigten MagSafe-Anschluss für diesen Zweck zu nutzen. Passende Adapterkabel liegen bei oder können kurzerhand hinzuerworben werden. Die Powerbank besitzt eine Kapazität von 16.000 mAh. Zum Vergleich: Der integrierte Akku eines aktuellen MacBook Air (13 Zoll) verfügt von Haus aus nur über 7150 mAh. Entsprechend lange sollte ein netzunabhängiges Arbeiten mit dem Zusatzakku möglich sein. Aber, wie bei allen hier genannten Akkus ist dieser Wert etwas irreführend. Wichtiger: Die Angabe der sogenannten Wattstunden. Diese entspricht bei der Powerbank 59,2 Wh, beim MacBook Air (13 Zoll) 54 Wattstunden. Ergo: Eine weitere, volle Ladung sollte in der Praxis möglich sein.
Neben dem MagSafe-Adapter finden sich noch zahlreiche Adapter im Lieferumfang. Damit können noch weitere Notebooks, Smartphones und Tablets geladen werden. Unter anderem auch iPhones und iPads – Lightning-Anschluss und Dock-Connector sind enthalten. Wichtig: Für den Betrieb eines MacBook Airs und MacBook Pros mit Retina Display (jeweils ab Mitte 2012) wird noch ein MagSafe-2-Adapter benötigt.

Noch mehr Leistung verspricht die revolt Powerbank – ganze 24.000 mAh. Die Wattstunden gibt der Hersteller nicht an, dürften aber wie bei der folgenden XTPower Powerbank circa 90 Wh entsprechen. Über den USB-Anschluss können noch weitere Geräte geladen werden, auch stromhungrige Geräte wie das iPad. Die revolt Powerbank gibt’s in zwei Versionen – mit MagSafe- und Magafe-2-Anschluss (MacBook Air und MacBook Pro Retina ab Mitte 2012).

Eine weiter Option: Die XTPower Powerbank. Erhältlich mit 16.000 mAh (59,2 Wh), 20.000 mAh (74 Wh) oder 24.000 mAh (88,8 Wh) – jeweils mit MagSafe- oder Magafe-2-Anschluss. Auch hier liegen zusätzlich noch diverse weitere Adapter bei, die genutzt werden können für eine Vielzahl vom Smartphones und Tablets.Eine weitere, etwas eigenartige, Alternative ist der ChugPlug von Lenmar. Im diesjährigen MacBook kommen die neuen Prozessoren der Generation „Skylake“ zum Einsatz, die auch tatsächlich eine spürbare Leistungssteigerung mit sich bringen: Die mittlere Ausstattung des MacBook mit 1,2-Gigahertz-Core-m5-Prozessor ist laut 64-Bit-Geekbench-Tests rund 20 Prozent schneller als das direkte Vorgängermodell.

Damit bleibt das MacBook aber weiterhin deutlich langsamer als andere aktuelle MacBooks: Der Geekbench-Wert in Höhe von knapp unter 3000 Punkten im Single-Core- und knapp unter 6000 Punkten im Multi-Core-Test ist etwas niedriger als der eines MacBook Air mit Core-i7-Prozessor aus dem Jahr 2013. Wer Prozessorleistung will, sollte daher eher zu anderen Macs greifen. Der Vergleich zum 2013er-MacBook Air hinkt allerdings insoweit, als dass das MacBook natürlich über einen besseren Grafikchip verfügt – dieser ist laut Apple im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmodell auch noch einmal um 25 Prozent schneller geworden.

In einem Punkt ist das neue MacBook seinem Vorgänger aber wirklich sehr deutlich überlegen: Die SSD ist um 80 bis 90 Prozent schneller als die des 2015er-Modells. Je nachdem, für welche Aufgaben der Benutzer das Gerät verwendet, kann sich das noch stärker bemerkbar machen als ein schnellerer Prozessor.

Das wird überhaupt erst möglich durch den 4.500 mAh fassenden Energiespeicher im Inneren des LG X Power 2. Der Akku besitzt obendrein eine Schnellladefunktion, die 50 Prozent binnen einer Stunde aufzuladen verspricht. Um welche Technologie es sich hierbei handelt, ist unklar. Denkbar ist Quick Charge von Qualcomm, gleichwohl LG kaum Angaben zum verbauten SoC bereitstellt: Das Datenblatt führt lediglich einen unbenannten Octa-Core-Chip mit einer Taktrate von 1,5 GHz auf. Diesem stehen je nach Ausführung 1,5 GB oder 2 GB RAM zur Seite. Der Datenspeicher fasst 16 GB, was für ein als Medien-Smartphone beworbenes Gerät relativ wenig ist, lässt sich aber immerhin per microSD-Karte erweitern.

Die Mattscheibe des LG X Power 2 kommt derweil mit einer HD-Auflösung daher und misst 5,5 Zoll in der Diagonale. Der Hersteller rühmt sich hier für die benutzte In-Cell-Technologie, die das berührungsempfindliche Touchfeld in das LC-Panel einarbeitet. Das spart Platz und Energie, da die Hintergrundbeleuchtung weniger Masse überwinden muss. Um den mobilen Konsum von E-Books und Comics angenehmer zu gestalten, unterstützt das X Power 2 die vom Hersteller sogenannte Comfort View. Dabei handelt es sich um einen gewöhnlichen Blaufilter, der in Smartphones oft auch als Nachtmodus verkauft wird.

Just because you can do something, it doesn’t mean you should. The 2018 Acer Swift 7 proved that. It was a shockingly thin laptop at just 0.35 inches – about as thin as an iPhone — but it demanded some significant compromises. Acer wants to rectify that with the 2019 Swift 7, which isn’t quite as thin but seeks to address the previous version’s shortcomings.

We reviewed the sole configuration of the Swift 7, with a dual-core, low-power 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8500Y CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB PCIe solid-state drive (SSD), and a 14-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) display. The price for this configuration is $1,700, making the Swift 7 a premium laptop.

The Swift 7 lives up to its billing as an incredibly thin and light laptop, as we’ll see. But is that enough to justify its relatively high price?

A LOVELY SLIVER OF A LAPTOP
Okay, so, let’s get the superlatives out of the way: This is a spectacularly thin, compact, and light laptop. The previous version of the Swift 7 was just slightly thinner – 0.35 inches compared to 0.39 inches in the new model – but it was also larger thanks to relatively chunky bezels surrounding the 14-inch display. For 2019, Acer jumped on the tiny bezel bandwagon with both feet – the Swift 7’s 92 percent screen-to-body ratio rivals the Lenovo IdeaPad S940 and Asus ZenBook S13.

That means that the Swift 7 is as small as those two tiny-bezel class-leaders, but it’s so much thinner. The ZenBook S13 is 0.67 inches thick and the IdeaPad S940 0.55 inches. Trust us – you’ll notice just how thin the Swift 7 is the second you pick it up. As we said about the 2018 version, the Swift 7 feels like someone ripped off a normal laptop’s display and handed you back what’s left over.

The Swift 7 is also incredibly light at just 1.96 pounds. You notice that immediately as well, and it’s almost three-quarters of a pound lighter than the ZenBook S13 and the IdeaPad S940. Even the tiny Dell XPS 13 is significantly heavier at 2.7 pounds. The Swift 7’s light weight is maybe more impressive than its thinness.

So, this is a thin, small, and light laptop – among the thinnest, lightest, and smallest around. And that’s a good thing if you’re a serious road warrior and don’t want to be weighed down but still want a larger display. But are there any compromises, as there were with last year’s Swift 7?

The next-best option I’ve found is the Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-39BH, which isn’t as well built but performs just as effectively and has a battery life of around seven hours.

Präsentiert bekommen wir es auf Pressebildern mit kräftigen, dunklen Farbtönen.

Das Motorola Droid Turbo fasst einen 5,2 Zoll großen QHD-AMOLED-Bildschirm, ist mit dem Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 ausgestattet, welcher von 3 GByte Arbeitsspeicher unterstützt wird. Neben der Hardware, die sich in der obersten High-End-Klasse ansiedelt, kann sich auch der Akku sehen lassen: Er fasst 3.900 mAh und soll sich dank Quick-Charging-Funktion innerhalb von 15 Minuten für ganze acht Stunden Betrieb aufladen lassen.

Neben den Besonderheiten wie „Ballistic Nylon“- oder „Kevlar“-Backcovern sind vor allem die Spezifikationen und der Akku hervorzuheben. Liebhaber aktuellster Technik dürften mit dem Motorola Droid Turbo sehr zufrieden sein.
Auch beim Turbo unter den aktuellen Smartphones der ehemaligen Google-Tochter kommt ein kräftiges AMOLED-Display zum Einsatz, auf die im diesjährig veröffentlichten Line-Up verwendeten Stereo-Frontlautsprecher wurde jedoch verzichtet.

Falls ihr bereits in die Tasten haut und verzweifelt nach dem Motorola Droid Turbo sucht: Es ist ab 30. November exklusiv beim Provider Verizon in den USA bestellbar. Dort kann es über zwei Jahre für monatlich 24,99 US-Dollar finanziert oder zum vollen Preis von 599,99 US-Dollar gekauft werden. Informationen über einen möglichen Deutschlandstart liegen noch nicht vor.
Wie stark hat sich das neue 12-Zoll-MacBook im Vergleich zum Vorgänger aus dem letzten Jahr verbessert? Erste Benchmarks zeigen eine recht deutliche Leistungssteigerung des Prozessors – der aber immer noch keine Hochleistungen erbringt.

Letzteres ist nicht nur ein Ladegerät mit zwei USB-Ports, sondern bietet sogar Alexa-Integration. Hierfür muss der Roav VIVA allerdings mit dem Smartphone verbunden sein.
Wie baut man heutzutage ein Smartphone, das sich von der Konkurrenz-Masse abhebt? Zum Beispiel indem man ihm einen wirklich leistungsfähigen Akku verpasst. Und genau das hat Elephone mit seinem Modell namens P5000 getan.

Smartphones und ihre Akkus, ein ewiges und ebenfalls leidiges Thema. Zwar versprechen immer mehr Unternehmen eine bessere Leistung ihrer eingebauten Batterien, einen wirklich großen Unterschied merkt man dabei aber selten.
Etwas anders könnte dies beim Elephone P5000 sein. Während dieses sich optisch zwar nicht unbedingt von der Masse abhebt und das Kind einer Liebschaft eines Samsung Galaxy-Smartphones mit dem iPhone 6 sein könnte, ist es hier vor allem das Innenleben, dem man seine Aufmerksamkeit widmen sollte. Denn das Herzstück für den Betrieb ist ein 5.350 mAh starker Akku, der damit der leistungsfähigste ist, der bisher in einem Smartphone eingebaut wurde.

Was bedeutet das in der Praxis? Laut Elephone sind Nutzungszeiten bis zu 4 Tagen kein Problem. Und zwar auch dann, wenn man das Gerät auch wirklich nutzt, wie die folgende Grafik zeigt. Selbst nach häufigem Einsatz soll das Gerät so abends auch immer noch über 72% der Akkuladung verfügen. Und auch Intensivnutzer sollen auf eine Laufzeit von immerhin zwei Tagen kommen. Ein Wert, den bisher wohl kaum ein anderes Smartphone derzeit zustande bringen kann.

Doch auch die weiteren technischen Spezifikationen können sich durchaus sehen lassen. So ist das Gerät beispielsweise auch mit einem Fingerabdrucksensor ausgestattet, der zum Entsperrend des Displays und für mehr genutzt werden kann. Ach ja, und dank des wirklich mächtigen Akkus kann das P5000 auch einfach mal als Zusatzakku für andere Geräte verwendet werden (diese Technologie ist auch bereits von Huawei bekannt). Klingt doch alles in allem ziemlich gut, oder?

Mit 9,3 mm gehört das Elephone P500 zwar nicht zu den dünnsten Geräten, angesichts des monströsen Akkus ist dieses aber absolut zu verzeihen. Im Vergleich: Das Samsung Galaxy S5 (5,1 Zoll Display) ist 8,1 mm dick, hat dafür aber auch nur einen 2.800 mAh starken Akku. Ein großer Akku braucht natürlich auch eigentlich etwas mehr Zeit, um aufgeladen zu werden. Auch hier hat Elephone aber mitgedacht und einen 5,2V/2,5 mAh starken Schnellauflader an Bord, der den Akku des P5000 in 1 Stunden zu 70% auflädt.

Alles in allem klingt das Gerät äußerst interessant und wir hoffen, dass wir uns demnächst auch selbst ein eigenes Bild von dem Gerät machen können. Erscheinen soll das Elephone P5000 Anfang 2015, ein Preis wurde noch nicht genannt. Offiziell wird das Gerät bei uns wahrscheinlich nicht angeboten werden, über Umwege dürfte es aber aber kein Problem sein, das Gerät auch im deutschsprachigen Raum zu kaufen.

Vorn wie hinten ist Glas zu finden – genauer gesagt das kratzresistente Gorilla Glass 4.

Als Prozessor kommt der hauseigene Exynos 7420 Octacore zum Einsatz mit 4 x 2,1 GHz Cortex-A57 und 4 x 1,5 GHz Cortex-A53. Insgesamt kann das S6 auf 3 GB RAM zugreifen. Der interne Speicher ist wahlweise 32, 64 oder 128 GB groß. Hier sollte man ganz genau wählen, da es keinen SD-Kartenslot gibt, um den Speicher zu erweitern.

Die üblichen Netzwerk-Verbindungen wie WLAN und Bluetooth 4.1 sind mit an Bord; sogar NFC, Infrarot und GPS. Am Gehäuserand unten befindet sich ein microUSB-Anschluss. Darüber ist der Home-Button zu finden, der auch als Fingerabdruckscanner fungiert.

4 GB (preferably 8 GB) of memory: A laptop with 4 GB of memory allows you to have two or three applications open at a time, but after 10 or so browser tabs it’ll slow to a crawl. A model with 8 GB is much better, but rare. Chromebooks can get away with 4 GB of memory because that operating system doesn’t require as much as Windows to run smoothly.

This leaves you with a choice between three different types of computers: a Chromebook, a Windows laptop, or a tablet.If you want something portable or durable, and you rely mostly on Google Docs for schoolwork, get a Chromebook. If you prefer Windows and don’t mind dealing with slightly sluggish performance and less durability in favor of wider software support, get a Windows laptop. If you don’t need Windows applications or access to specialty software, buy a Chromebook. They’re better built, they have longer battery life, and they’re easier to update than their Windows-based competitors. Chromebooks run Google’s ChromeOS, where you do everything through the Chrome Web browser. They’re most useful for students who do coursework in Google Docs or through online education portals. Chromebooks update automatically and have no bloatware or preinstalled software to remove the way Windows laptops do, which makes them much easier to use. Chromebooks can run some Android mobile apps but can’t run Windows applications, so they aren’t good for tasks that require special software, such as coding or media editing. Despite being browser based, Chromebooks do have offline support, according to Google, but they’re not as useful as a Windows computer if you don’t have an internet connection.

For under $500, Wirecutter’s pick for the best Chromebook is the Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA. Weighing less than 3 pounds, it has a 10-hour battery life, a bright touch-screen, and a backlit keyboard that’s comfortable to type on. But this model is old and won’t get software updates after 2022. If you can spend more than $500, get Wirecutter’s pick for the best Chromebook overall, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434TA, which has a larger screen and a newer processor and is often on sale for around $530. The C434TA is a classy laptop and could be mistaken for a high-end Windows computer at a glance. Both Chromebooks are fine options for high school and college students who work in Google Docs and are rarely without an internet connection.

If you’re shopping for younger students in elementary or middle school, I’d go with Wirecutter’s budget Chromebook pick, the Acer C771T, which has a slower processor but also offers a durable case made to withstand a beating. I’ve seen this laptop continue to work even after a kid dunked a full glass of water on it.

For $500 you can’t get a Windows laptop that can multitask that well or run memory-heavy programs, but you can get one that feels snappy enough for browsing the Web, running lightweight productivity software, and watching movies. A cheap Windows laptop can do what a Chromebook can, but it’s also likely saddled with bloatware, worse battery life, slow performance with lots of tabs open, and a cheaper-feeling case. The main reason to get one over a Chromebook is if you need to run Windows software.

The best option I’ve found is the Asus VivoBook Flip 14 TP412FA. Its 128 GB of SSD storage is plenty for most people, and the Core i3 processor is fast enough. Its biggest problem is its measly 4 GB of memory, which causes it to slow down if you run more than three applications at once or open about 10 tabs in a browser. Otherwise, the VivoBook Flip’s touch-screen is vibrant (albeit a bit too reflective for outdoor use), and the keyboard is comfortable and backlit. And although I had issues with the trackpad not always registering movement, it’s still better than most options in this price range. The battery was underwhelming in my tests, lasting less than five hours. That won’t get you through a day of school without having to find a plug to charge.

The results were impressive, with this particular configuration of the Aspire 5 topping our chart of similar Core i5-powered laptops in roughly the same price range. The Aspire’s PCMark 8 score of a little over 3,500 easily cleared our low-water mark of 2,000 for this benchmark, and it even bests the numbers of competing laptops that cost hundreds of dollars more, although some of those pricier laptops are also much smaller and lighter (and thus tougher to keep cool) than the Aspire.

A considerably tougher test than PCMark 8, our HandBrake benchmark measures how long it takes for a given laptop to convert a 40GB video file into an Android tablet-compatible format. Whereas PCMark 8 is a single-core workout for a CPU, Handbrake demands peak performance from all of a processor’s cores, meaning that the chip with the most cores will generally win out.

One reason for the Aspire 5’s middling Handbrake score is that its quad-core CPU frequently throttles itself to keep things cool.
Like most of the laptops in our comparison chart, the Core i5-powered Aspire 5 has a quad-core processor, and indeed, the Aspire’s 4,973-minute score lands in the ballpark, albeit near the rear of the pack. Ahead of the Aspire are laptops that are either much pricier (like the Lenovo ThinkPad L480) or bigger and therefore easier to cool (like the hefty Acer E 15). Lagging behind the Aspire is the 2.7-pound Asus ZenBook 13. As expected, a couple of dual-core Acer laptops, including a Core- i3-packing version of the Aspire 5 line (full review coming soon), bring up the rear.

Looking under the hood using Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility, we can see that the Aspire is frequently engaging thermal throttling during the HandBrake test. In other words, it’s repeatedly pumping the brakes on the CPU’s performance to keep it from overheating, most likely a concession to the Aspire’s slim chassis.

The Aspire’s so-so HandBrake score matters only if you have ambitious plans for this laptop. Activities like web browsing and editing Office documents don’t demand multi-core performance; generally speaking, the CPU only needs a single core to handle most mainstream desktop chore. The PCMark 8 benchmark already told us that the Aspire sails right through those types of tasks.If you’re planning on editing 4K videos, however, then yes, the Aspire 5 may get sluggish as it tries to cool itself off. It’ll still get the job done much faster than a dual-core laptop could.

Another benchmark that pushes a CPU to its limits, Cinebench measures how long it takes for a given system to render a 3D image in real time. It’s another multi-core torture test, and again, we should look for laptops with the most processor cores to be topping the chart. As with Handbrake, the Aspire 5’s all-threads Cinebench score is lower than we’d like, although its single-thread score is right where it should be. Reflecting the results of the HandBrake test, the Core i5-powered Acer Aspire 5 again brings up the rear of the Core i5 pack in the multithread Cinebench test, although it’s by no means a blowout. Indeed, while we (again) saw the Aspire 5 dialing down its CPU via thermal throttling during the test, its 493 all-threads Cinebench score is still relatively respectable.

Also interesting are the single-thread Cinebench test results, which shows the Core i5-powered Aspire 5 basically even with its competition, save for the much heavier Aspire E15 and expensive Lenovo IdeaPad. The Aspire 5’s relatively strong single-threaded performance bodes well when it comes to everyday computing duties.

With its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 core, it’s unfair to expect much from the Aspire 5 in terms of gaming, but we put it through its paces anyway with the 3DMark Sky Diver graphics benchmark. The Aspire 5 and its integrated graphics core sits bunched up with similarly configured laptops, while the Acer E 15 tops the chart thanks to its discrete graphics card.
No surprises here, with the i5-packing Aspire 5 in the top third of its class in our chart. What’s that one laptop at the top that’s blowing all the others away? It’s the Core i5-enabled Acer E 15, a bargain-priced laptop with an ace up its sleeve: a discrete GeForce MX150 graphics card. The MX150 is no powerhouse, mind you, but it illustrates the difference that even an entry-level discrete graphics card can make.

Wie bei vielen neuen Technologien kommt es aber stark darauf an, dass diese günstig genug sind, damit möglichst viele Hersteller diese adaptieren. Um den Akku von Android-Geräten zu schonen und die Laufzeit pro Ladung zu verlängern, gibt es viele Tipps und Anwendungen, die das versprechen. Doch nur wenige funktionieren tatsächlich. Als Positiv-Beispiel ist die Android-App Greenify zu nennen. Ursprünglich war zu deren Nutzung ein gerootetes Gerät notwendig, mittlerweile lässt sich mit der Android-Anwendung auch ohne Root Energie sparen.

Apps wie beispielsweise Clean Master oder Advanced Task Killer beenden Anwendungen unter Android lediglich und verhelfen dem auf Linux setzten mobilen Betriebssystem Android einen kurzen Leistungsschub. Dieser hält jedoch nicht lange an, da Android sowie fast alle anderen Betriebssysteme darauf ausgelegt sind, möglichst viele Programme im Arbeitsspeicher zu behalten, damit der nächste Start schneller vonstatten geht. Weil beim nächsten Start der App entsprechend mehr Zeit verbraucht wird, sind klassische Taskkiller sogar kontraproduktiv.

Beim „harten“ Beenden von Android-Anwendungen werden diese Daten nicht berücksichtigt, bleiben im Arbeitsspeicher liegen und können nicht mehr zugeordnet werden, so füllt sich der Arbeitsspeicher -- der Nutzer fühlt wieder das Bedürfnis, ihn leeren zu müssen. So verlangsamt sich das System immer mehr und berappelt sich erst nach einem Neustart. Ein weiterer Nachteil des Killens von Android-Prozessen stellt der Umstand dar, dass diese dann wieder bei „Null“ starten – also im Hauptmenü. Klingt die RAM-Verwaltung von Android im ersten Moment ziemlich ausgeklügelt, kann diese im Zweifelsfall jedoch für einen erhöhten Akkuverbrauch sorgen, da diese weiter im Hintergrund laufen. Greenify setzt genau hier an und schickt die jeweiligen Anwendungen in eine Art hybriden Ruhezustand. Hierbei haben die Apps die Möglichkeit, die in den RAM ausgelagerten Bestandteile zu entfernen und sich wie gewollt zu schließen.

Bei Messaging-Apps verschwinden jedoch auch die Benachrichtigungen aus der Statusleiste -- dies wäre natürlich fatal für Viel-WhatsApper (oder -Threema-Nutzer). Ist dies bei bestimmten Apps der Fall, weißt Greenfiy durch ein „GCM-Logo“ bei der jeweiligen App darauf hin. Hierbei handelt es sich um Google Cloud Messaging.
Dieser Service ist unter anderem für die Verwaltung von Benachrichtigung von Messaging-Apps zuständig.In der Spendenversion von Greenify ist ein Workaround erhalten, mit welchem ihr die GCM-Benachrichtigungen behalten könnt. Neben dieser Funktion erhalten „Spender“ (Inhaber der Bezahlversion für 2,29 Euro) zudem erweiterte experimentelle Features, für die jedoch Root vonnöten ist.

Neben der Möglichkeit, aktive Apps für das in den Schlaf schicken markieren zu können, zeigt Greenify auch an, welche Anwendungen ebenfalls Akkufresser sein könnten. Diese können natürlich, genauso wie die Anzeige aller Anwendungen am Ende der Liste, für die „Auto Hibernate“-Funktion (Auto-Ruhezustand) ausgewählt werden.

Zu den rudimentären Funktionen kommen noch (kostenfreie), wie beispielsweise ein automatischer Ruhezustand für Nutzer ohne Root-Berechtigungen, bei dem Greenify auch ohne Root Apps beim Ausschalten des Bildschirms in den Ruhezustand versetzt.

Alter & Hardware: Je älter euer PC ist, desto schwächer ist die verbaute Hardware. Auf älteren PCs dauern Windows-10-Updates länger.
Installierte Software: Ist euer Betriebssystem gewartet oder mit Adware vollgemüllt? Das hat Einfluß auf die PC-Geschwindigkeit.
Konfiguration: Habt ihr die Grundkonfiguration stark verändert oder tiefe Systemeingriffe vorgenommen?
Je neuer und schneller euer Rechner ist, desto zügiger läuft auch das Windows-10-Update ab. Allerdings können wir aufgrund unserer Erfahrungen eine Einschätzung geben: Bei den meisten PCs und Geräten dauert die Windows-10-Installation ungefähr eine Stunde.

Auch wichtig zu wissen ist, wie groß Windows 10 nach der Installation ist, damit ihr genügend Speicher einplanen könnt.
Hinweis: Merkt euch auf jeden Fall regelmäßig die Prozentanzeige, damit ihr stundenweise vergleichen könnt, ob sich etwas getan hat. Falls ihr den Rechner eine Nacht durchlaufen habt lassen, und sich nichts tut, muss wohl per Power-Knopf abgebrochen werden. Windows spielt dann automatisch die vorige Windows-Version zurück. Probiert es dann erneut.
Wenn die Update-Installation an dieser Stelle hängt, könnt ihr das nur abbrechen, indem ihr lange auf den Power-Knopf drückt oder die Stromzufuhr unterbrecht. Bei Laptops kann man auch den Akku entfernen. Wir empfehlen diese Methode aber nur als letztes Mittel.

Smartphones, Tablets, Laptops und andere elektronische Geräte werden dank neuer Akku-Technologien immer flacher und leichter – neue Gerätetypen wie Smartwatches und -Glasses dagegen stehen bereits am Anfang ihrer Existenz vor dem Problem, eine Stromquelle in ein möglichst praktisches, sprich kleines Gehäuse zu integrieren. Die Firma ProLogium hat neue Batterien im Programm, die nicht nur sehr dünn, sondern auch flexibel sind und somit schon bald ganz neue Gerätearten ermöglichen dürfte.

Flexible Akkus: Energiequelle für tragbare Geräte der (nahen) Zukunft
Bisher versuchen die neuen tragbaren Geräte wie Smartwatches bereits etablierte Devices wie Smartphones in einem kleineren Formfaktor zu imitieren – folglich unterscheiden sich die Technologien für Displays und Batterien kaum und erlauben daher auch nur starre Gehäuse. Dies dürfte sich aber mit kommenden Technologien schon bald ändern: Sascha von Mobile Geeks hat der Firma ProLogium einen Besuch abgestattet und sich zeigen lassen, was das Unternehmen in naher Zukunft im Bereich Akkus zu bieten hat:

Die Lithium-Ceramic-Akkus des Herstellers sind also nicht nur sehr dünn und zudem flexibel, sondern auch noch sehr widerstandsfähig. Sie funktionieren sogar noch weiter, wenn ein Stück abgeschnitten oder ein Loch durchgebohrt wird. Dies könnte in sehr naher Zukunft also zum Beispiel zu flachen Smartwatches führen, die die Stromquelle, die sich somit um das Handgelenk schmiegt, im Armband tragen. Auch die bereits lange orakelten flexiblen Smartphones könnten somit, in Kombination mit den flexiblen Displays, an denen LG und Samsung schon länger arbeiten, bald Realität werden. Ob flexible Tablets oder Ultrabooks dagegen besonders praktisch wären, sei an dieser Stelle mal dahin gestellt.

Das wohl größte Ärgernis des Smartphone-Zeitalters ist, dass wir unsere Geräte ständig aufladen müssen – mit einer intensiven Benutzung lassen sich die meisten Smartphones in weniger als einem Tag in die Knie zwingen. Wehmütig denken wir an die Zeiten zurück, als Handys – meist von Nokia – mehrere Tage mit einer Akkuladung durchhielten.
HMD Global – das Startup, das unter dem Markennamen Nokia seit einiger Zeit Android-Smartphones produziert – will mit dem Nokia 2 offenbar daran anknüpfen. Das Gerät hat einen riesigen Akku mit einer Kapazität von 4.100 mAh. Damit übertrifft das Gerät sogar das Huawei Mate 10 Pro, dessen Akku 4.000 mAh bietet.

Allerdings ist die Hardware des Nokia 2 deutlich bescheidener und somit auch stromsparender, sodass das Gerät mit diesem Akku auf eine Laufzeit von mindestens zwei Tagen (!) normaler Benutzung kommt – so zumindest die Angaben von HMD Global. Sollte sich dieser Wert in Praxistests bestätigen, wäre das tatsächlich bemerkenswert. Das zweite große Argument für das Nokia 2 dürfte der Preis sein: HMD bleibt mit 99 Euro knapp unter der 100-Euro-Marke. Die Auslieferung wird offenbar noch im November beginnen; Kunden können sich die Farbvarianten Zinn/Schwarz, Zinn/Weiß und Kupfer/Schwarz aussuchen.

Ein sehr niedriger Preis und ein sehr leistungsfähiger Akku – diese Kombination lässt vermuten, dass HMD Global an anderen Enden spart. Und zwar nicht nur, um die Akkulaufzeit zu optimieren. Tatsächlich sind die technischen Details recht dürftig: Der Prozessor, ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 mit 1,2 GHz, bietet sicherlich nicht Leistung auf Hochleistungsniveau, für ein Budget-Smartphone ist die Komponente aber noch in Ordnung.

Vor allem bietet das Nokia 2 aber nur 1 GB RAM und 8 GB Flash-Speicher. Letzterer lässt sich immerhin mit einer microSD-Karte erweitern. 1 GB Arbeitsspeicher sind aber tatsächlich sehr wenig – zumal mit Android 7.0 Nougat eine noch einigermaßen aktuelle Android-Version installiert ist, was an sich natürlich positiv ist. Andererseits hat HDM Global bereits in der Vergangenheit bewiesen, dass man Hard- und Software durch die Verwendung von Stock-Android gut aufeinander abstimmen kann. Wie potent das Nokia 2 also im Alltag ist, lässt sich erst nach einem ausführlichen Test sagen.

Ganz ordentlich sind derweil die technischen Daten zu Kamera und Display: Das 5-Zoll-LC-Display bietet eine HD-Auflösung, also 1.280 x 720 Pixel. Die Frontkamera schießt Fotos mit 5 MP, die Hauptkamera bietet 8 MP. Wie gut diese in der Praxis sind, werden ebenfalls erst Tests zeigen müssen.

Wenn ihr Windows 10 installieren wollt, solltet ihr vorher wissen, wie lange der Update-Vorgang dauert. So wisst ihr erstens, wie lange ihr eurem Rechner ungefähr fernbleiben könnt und zweitens, ob die Installation unter Umständen hängt oder eingefroren ist. Denn mitunter kommt es vor, dass ein Windows-10-Update ewig dauert, um zu installieren.
Für das Update solltet ihr 20 bis 60 Minuten einplanen. Je nach Hardware-Konfiguration und Windows-Zustand kann es auch länger dauern. Zum Vergleich: Eine Neuinstallation dauert in der Regel 15 Minuten, sofern von USB-Stick auf eine SSD installiert wird.

Die USB-Erstellung beziehungsweise das Update kann mit dem Media Creation Tool nochmal eine Stunde länger dauern, da erst die erforderlichen Dateien heruntergeladen werden müssen.
Info: Wenn das Update läuft, zeigt die Update-Prozentanzeige im Kreis in der Mitte den Gesamtfortschritt der Installation an. Unten am Rand sehr ihr den Fortschritt der drei Stufen Dateien werden kopiert, Features und Treiber werden installiert und Einstellungen werden konfiguriert.

Es sieht aus wie eine ganz gewöhnliche Docking-Station für iPhone und iPod touch. Die Besonderheit am GDock Power: Es kann die iOS-Geräte selbst dann laden, wenn es nicht mit einer Steckdose verbunden ist.
Im GDock Power von PhotoFast ist ein Akku mit 1800 mAh verbaut. Das ist mehr, als das iPhone für ein Mal Aufladen benötigt. Für das Wochenendhaus ohne Strom vielleicht eine „überlebenswichtige“ Sache… Groß ins Gewicht fällt das Dock jedenfalls nicht: Laut Hersteller ist sie 150 Gramm leicht.

Im Normalfall ist die Ladestation über USB an einem Mac oder PC angeschlossen. So wird sie einerseits selbst geladen, andererseits wird das eingesteckte iPhone geladen und synchronisiert.
Das GDock Power ist kompatibel mit dem iPhone 3G oder neuer, sowie dem iPod touch ab 3. Generation. USB-Kabel und Aufbewahrungstasche sind im Lieferumfang enthalten.
Das Honor Note 10 ist da, wenn auch zunächst nur für den chinesischen Markt. Es handelt sich um ein Gerät der Superlative. Das 6,95-Zoll-Display ist da nur der Anfang. Kommt es auch nach Deutschland?

Honor, die Tochtermarke von Huawei, hat jetzt das Note 10 vorgestellt. Wie zuvor bereits berichtet, kann das Smartphone auf ein besonders großes Display verweisen – und der Rest der Hardware braucht sich ebenfalls nicht zu verstecken. Gerade der starke Akku dürfte manchen Interessenten überzeugen.
Beim Honor Note 10 hat der Konzern weder Kosten noch Mühen gescheut. Das AMOLED-Display im Format von 18,5:9 kommt auf die besagte Diagonale von 6,95 Zoll und löst mit 2.220 x 1.080 Bildpunkten auf. Das Verhältnis von Display zu Gehäuse liegt bei sehr ordentlichen 81,5 Prozent. Auf einen Notch oder dicke Seitenränder hat der Hersteller verzichtet. Leider auch auf einen klassischen Kopfhöreranschluss im 3,5-mm-Format. Ein Adapter liegt aber mit im Paket.

Wieder einmal kommt der hauseigene Kirin 970 zum Einsatz. Den Prozessor kennen wir schon unter anderem vom Honor 10 und der Mate-10-Reihe von Huawei. Unterstützung gibt es von je nach Modell 6 GB oder sogar 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher. Beim Festspeicher haben Kunden die Wahl zwischen 64 GB und 128 GB. Android 8.1 Oreo mit Huaweis Benutzeroberfläche EMUI 8.2 ist vorinstalliert. Um für genügend Power zu sorgen, hat Honor einen Akku mit einer satten Leistung von 5.000 mAh verbaut. Durch USB Type-C und einen Schnelllademodus dürfte das Gerät schnell wieder auf den Beinen stehen. Mit 230 Gramm Gewicht ist das Note 10 aber alles andere als ein Leichtgewicht.

Damit das Gerät kühl genug bleibt, hat der Hersteller eine Flüssigkühlung integriert. Diese soll unter Volllast für 10 Grad Celsius weniger sorgen. Neben dem „GPU-Turbo“ für mehr Grafikleistung hat Honor jetzt auch einen „CPU-Turbo“ integriert. Die softwareseitige Lösung soll eine noch bessere Performance ermöglichen. Beide Turbos lassen sich mit einem physischen Button am Gerät einschalten.

Die Dual-Kamera auf der Rückseite des Honor Note 10 kann Fotos mit 24 MP beziehungsweise 16 MP (beide f/1.8) erstellen. Hinzu kommt noch eine Frontkamera mit 13 MP und einem Blendenwert von f/2.0. Verschiedene KI-Funktionen sorgen dafür, dass das zu fotografierende Objekt im Idealfall erkannt wird und entsprechende Einstellungen automatisch vorgenommen werden.

Honor hat das Note 10 jetzt in China in den Farben Midnight Black und Phantom Blue vorgestellt. Die Preise liegen dort je nach Ausstattung zwischen 350 und 450 Euro. Sollte das Smartphone auch in Deutschland an den Start gehen, ist allerdings mit höheren Preisen zu rechnen. Honor hat noch nicht verkündet, ob das Gerät auch außerhalb Chinas in den Verkauf gehen wird. Es ist aber gut möglich, dass der Konzern das Note 10 im Rahmen der IFA (31. August bis 5. September) im Gepäck hat.
HMD Global will den Markt günstiger Smartphones aufmischen – mit dem Nokia 2. Das neue Smartphone macht nicht nur mit seinem Preis, sondern auch durch eine bemerkenswerte Akkulaufzeit auf sich aufmerksam.

In dem Fall müsst ihr die Klappe mit einem Schraubenzieher (in manchen Fällen auch mit einer Münze) öffnen, den Akku herausnehmen und so wieder einlegen, dass er locker und ohne zu verkanten in das Gerät gleitet. Anschließend sichert ihr die Klappe wieder und versucht einen Neustart.

Manchmal können Akku-Kontakte korrodieren (eine Art Rost), wodurch sie nicht mehr richtig leiten. Das passiert zum Beispiel in Umgebungen mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit – oder wenn ihr es in eine Pfütze stellt beziehungsweise Kaffee darüber gießt. Entnehmt in diesem Fall den Akku und reinigt die Kontakte am Akku und im Gerät mit einem alkoholgetränkten Wattestäbchen. Reibt kräftig, bis Verfärbungen abgehen.
Danach beseitigt ihr auch eventuelle Reste von Feuchtigkeit und steckt den Akku wieder ein. Prüft jetzt, ob es sich normal laden lässt (Lade-LED) und ob das Laptop nach einiger Zeit wieder angeht.

Falls das nicht der Fall ist, liegt möglicherweise ein Akku-Schaden vor. Hofft, dass nicht mehr kaputtgegangen ist! Dann müsst ihr einen Ersatz-Akku beschaffen und einbauen. Geht das Laptop dann immer noch nicht an, bringt es zu einem Reparaturservice.

Das Laptop geht an und ihr hört ein Festplattengeräusch und den Lüfter. Vielleicht ertönt sogar der Start-Sound von Windows, aber der Bildschirm bleibt schwarz. Das liegt dann entweder an einer Fehleinstellung beim Laptop oder einem Hardwareschaden. Falls das Display oder die Grafikkarte defekt sind, müsst ihr einen Reparaturservice zu Rate ziehen. Aber versucht doch erst einmal etwas anderes.

Laptops haben fast immer die Möglichkeit, einen weiteren Bildschirm anzuschließen. Da in der Regel aber nur eines der beiden Displays laufen soll, könnt ihr das umschalten. Das geht einerseits in den Windows-Einstellungen, aber andererseits auch am Laptop selbst.
So könnt ihr den Bildschirm beim Laptop wieder aktivieren:
Auf der Tastatur befinden sich meist Tasten, die mit blauen Symbolen bedruckt sind und deren Umschaltung ihr erreicht, wenn ihr eine blaue, mit „Fn“ bedruckte Taste gleichzeitig drückt.

Sucht nach einer Taste, die einen Bildschirm enthält. Betätigt sie, um zwischen dem eingebauten Display und der Schnittstelle für den externen Bildschirm umzuschalten.
Wenn alles klappt, sollte der Bildschirm angehen.
Etwas problematischer ist das Ganze, wenn ihr versehentlich in Windows den internen Bildschirm aus- und einen nicht existenten zweiten Bildschirm angeschaltet habt.

Das geht ganz einfach, wenn ihr die Windowstaste + P gleichzeitig drückt und dort beispielsweise auf „Nur zweiter Bildschirm“ klickt. Aus dieser Situation kommt ihr raus, indem ihr wirklich einen zweiten Bildschirm an euer Laptop anschließt und die Windows-Einstellungen damit rückgängig macht. Möglicherweise müsst ihr dazu, wie einen Schritt weiter oben beschrieben, am Laptop ebenfalls die Schnittstelle für den zweiten Bildschirm aktivieren.

Hardwareschaden: Laptop geht nicht mehr an, weil es kaputt ist
Geht ein Laptop nicht mehr an und keiner der obigen Tipps hat geholfen, dann müsst ihr von einem Hardwareschaden ausgehen. Der kann viele Ursachen haben: Angefangen bei einer defekten Festplatte, über einen Prozessor- oder Motherboard-Schaden, bis hin zu einem defekten Netzteil oder einem Wasserschaden.
Manche Defekte werden bei einem Laptop durch sogenannte BIOS-Piepstöne signalisiert – der Link führt zu unserer Liste der Pieps-Codes. Ein Dauerton kann auf einen Netzteil-Schaden hinweisen, während ein langer und zwei kurze Töne auf ein Problem mit der Grafikkarte hinweisen.

Gemessen wurde die Akkulaufzeit unter anderem beim Surfen im Web über eine WLAN-Verbindung. Jeder Laptop durchläuft die Tests mindestens dreimal, schreibt das Nachrichtenportal.
In der Infografik (Artikelbild) sind alle Werte als Durchschnitte zu verstehen: Which? stellte seit Anfang 2016 unterschiedliche Modelle eines Herstellers auf den Prüfstand — darunter drei MacBooks von Apple.

Beispiel HP: Der Hersteller versprach bei 10 Geräten im Durchschnitt eine Akkulaufzeit von neun Stunden und 48 Minuten. Erreicht haben die Geräte nur knapp über fünf Stunden. Etwas besser stehen Asus-Laptops da: Sie erreichen knapp sieben der versprochenen zehn Stunden.
Ein 13-Zoll-MacBook-Pro — unklar ist allerdings, welches Modell genau — hielt zwölf Stunden durch. Apple gibt die Akkulaufzeit mit zehn Stunden an.
Auf Anfrage erklärte Dell: Es sei schwierig, eine genaue Batterielaufzeit anzugeben, die zu allen Kunden passt. Schließlich verwende jeder seinen PC auf unterschiedliche Weise.

Auch HP kommentierte das schlechte Ergebnis, ohne direkt Bezug darauf zu nehmen: Bei den Batterietests kommen Skripte zum Einsatz, die realistische Benutzung simulieren, heißt es in dem Statement. Ebenso wie „richtige Applikationen“ — beispielsweise Microsoft Office.
Traditionell gibt Apple die Akkulaufzeit für seine Notebooks eher konservativ an. Soll heißen: Die Tests, mit denen der Hersteller die Akkulaufzeit errechnet, veranschlagen durchaus intensive Nutzung. Probleme gibt es immer wieder dennoch: Über Monate waren Apples MacBook Pros mit Touchbar in der Presse – Software führte dazu, dass die Akkulaufzeit deutlich unter den versprochenen Werten lag. Die US-Ausgabe der Stiftung Warentest ließ die Geräte deshalb sogar durchfallen.

Dass ein Laptop nicht mehr angeht, kommt häufiger vor. In vielen Fällen lässt sich das Problem schnell lösen. Falls euer Gerät nicht starten oder hochfahren will, der Bildschirm schwarz bleibt oder seltsam piept, haben wir einige Vorschläge für euch, mit denen ihr es eventuell doch wieder zum Laufen bekommt.
Laptops und Notebooks sind mobile Geräte, die sehr häufig nur von einem Akku versorgt werden. Wenn so ein Laptop nicht mehr startet, kann das etwas mit der Stromversorgung und letztendlich auch mit euren Einstellungen zu tun haben. Solange kein Hardware-Defekt vorliegt, kriegt ihr euer Laptop in den meisten Fällen wieder zum Laufen. Hier unsere Tipps…

Wenn euer Laptop nicht mehr angeht, obwohl beim letzten Mal noch reichlich Saft im Akku war, kann es daran liegen, dass sich der Akku seitdem weiter entladen hat. Das kann insbesondere dann passieren, wenn man sein Laptop so konfiguriert hat, dass es beim Zuklappen nicht abschaltet. Auch der Modus „Energie sparen“ verbraucht weiter Strom, um den Arbeitszustand beim Zuklappen im RAM zu halten. Dahingegen sorgt der „Ruhezustand“ dafür, dass der Status quo auf der Festplatte gespeichert wird, bevor sich das Laptop wirklich abschaltet.

Wenn sich nichts tut, aber zumindest die Lade-LED am Gerät leuchtet, solltet ihr etwa 10 bis 30 Minuten warten, bevor ihr es nochmal zu starten versucht.
Geht das auch nicht, ladet den Akku vollständig auf und versucht es dann noch einmal.
Normalerweise sollte das Laptop auch bei einem völlig leeren Akku starten, wenn es am Stromnetz hängt. Manche Geräte „leiten“ aber den Arbeitsstrom durch den Akku hindurch und verlangen einen Mindest-Ladestand, bevor sie wieder angehen.

Akku-Probleme
Falls dieser Tipp nicht geholfen hat, kann es am Akku liegen. Hier ein paar andere Lösungsansätze, falls euer Laptop wegen des Akkus nicht an geht:
Bei Wechsel-Akkus (die ohne das Gerät zu öffnen austauschbar sind) überprüft den Sitz des Akkus. Meist werden sie von ein bis zwei Schiebehalterungen gesichert, von denen beide fest geschlossen sein müssen. Zieht sie auf, entfernt den Akku, schiebt ihn wieder ein und drückt die Halterungen fest zu.
Eingebaute Akkus haben manchmal das Problem, dass sie durch Bewegungen des Laptops verschoben werden. Dann sitzen die Kontakte nicht mehr richtig und das Laptop geht nicht mehr an.
